If you’re a KCB bank account holder, you can easily transact between your bank account and your M-Pesa wallet. KCB is one of the banks in Kenya that has the most seamless integration with M-Pesa.

In partnership with M-Pesa, KCB offers KCB M-Pesa saving and loan solutions. This model is available to M-Pesa users, even if they don’t have a KCB account.

This guide explains how to withdraw money from your KCB account to your M-Pesa wallet.

Below, we look at the different ways you can send money from KCB to M-Pesa without having to visit the bank.

How to Withdraw Money from KCB to M-Pesa via USSD

Like most banks today, KCB has a robust mobile banking system, giving its customers 24/7 access to their accounts and the convenience of making multiple transactions in the palm of their hands.

One of KCB’s mobile banking models is the M-Benki system, which works via the USSD code *522#.

Here’s the procedure for withdrawing money from KCB to M-Pesa using M-Benki:

  1. Dial *522# on your phone
  2. You’ll be asked to enter your M-Benki PIN to access the menu.
  3. Select the MyKash option from the list of options.
  4. If you have multiple accounts, such as separate savings and checking accounts, you’ll be asked to select the account from which you want to withdraw the money.
  5. Choose whether you want to send the money to your phone number or someone else’s number. Since you want to send the money to your account, choose the first option.
  6. You will need to enter the amount you wish to transfer from your bank account to your M-Pesa wallet. Pay attention to the minimum and maximum amount transferable.
  7. Confirm the details of the transaction, including the amount and transaction charges, before you authorize the withdrawal.
  8. If all the details are in order, click accept, and the money will be sent to your M-Pesa wallet. You’ll receive an SMS confirmation from both M-Pesa and KCB confirming the transaction.

Sometimes, the transaction may be unsuccessful due to factors like insufficient funds, exceeding the maximum amount, incorrect details, or system downtime. If the system is down at the time of the transaction, you’ll have to wait and try again later.

You can contact KCB or M-Pesa customer care if you’re unsure what the problem is.

N/B: You can only use the M-Benki service if you’ve registered and activated it on your phone.

How to Activate KCB M-Benki via M-Pesa

To activate KCB mobile banking, you need to start by opening an M-Benki account. This is a simple procedure that takes a few minutes.
